Trepidation
What is Trepidation?
Trepidation is an open-source first-person shooter based on the IOQuake3 engine with a sci-fi theme. Originally conceived on April 9, 2006, by members of the Star Trek Elite Force gaming community, the project disbanded before completion in 2008 — but is now back in active development. We aim to build a game that runs well even on older machines while delivering fast-paced, fun gameplay.

Game Modes
Trepidation introduces several new game types as well as some classics. Most game types have an instagib option.
Survival — A last man standing game. Stay alive while everyone else drops.
Arsenal — The object is not to run out of weapons. Every kill changes your loadout; run dry and you're done.
Trepidation — A team-based game with buildable objects where the object is not to let the other team destroy your Master Controller/Reactor. See the Wiki for details.
Trick-Jump Physics
New physics geared towards trick jumping with weapons and high-speed jumping, going beyond the standard Q3 movement.
Instagib
One shot, one kill. Instagib modifier available on most game modes for a purist test of aim and movement.
Buildable Turrets
Construct defensive gun turrets in Capture the Flag mode to guard your base and control the battlefield.
Unlagged Netcode
Improved network code based on unlagged 2.0, finely tuned to the new physics for responsive hit registration.
Voice Over IP
Built-in VOIP support — coordinate with your team without leaving the game or installing extra software.
Map Compatibility
Play Quake 3 Arena and Star Trek Voyager Elite Force maps natively alongside the original 21 Trepidation maps.
The single-player campaign is in the works. The 1st chapter defines the entire game, and a production house out of Dayton, OH put together the cinematics for the first chapter. Be sure to have a look.
Development is well underway for v0.0.30. You will be surprised!
